Kris Groda has deep roots in South Texas and his love for his home state and the Texas Hill Country is second to none. He grew up in nearby Castroville in Medina County and has spent the past 30+ years as a resident of San Antonio. His passion to help people runs as deep as his South Texas Heritage.
His career has been in and around the construction and real estate industries, with the last 20+ years spent in the real estate development industry. His varied resume includes heavy equipment operations which he began learning by his father’s side at the tender age of 12, construction supervisor in the overhead fire protection field, working as a guide in the South Texas dove fields and subdivision development from the far east side of Houston, to Bexar County and southern Medina County. He even has recent experience in the Eagle Ford Shale oil fields.
In addition to his extensive knowledge of construction and land management practices particular to the South Texas landscape, Kris has the “gift of gab” and a natural ability to build personal relationships. He has dedicated much of his free time to national and local 501(c)(3) organizations for the benefit of youth scholarship programs. The Coastal Conservation Association (CCA), Saltwater Enhancement Association (SEA) and the San Antonio Rodeo are among the beneficiaries of his fundraising efforts. In his most recent endeavor, Kris has become a member of the Wildfire Charity Golf Tournament and Concert Committee.
In his spare time, you can find Kris enjoying a fine cigar while traveling with his wife, hunting, bay fishing or on the golf course. His day to day motto is: Life is short, make friends not enemies.
